Artsmark

The Artsmark Award is the only creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England, supporting education settings to develop and celebrate their commitment to arts and cultural education.

How can Band on the Wall support your Artsmark programme? 

We offer education settings the following opportunities:

• Full or half-day workshops in your school on a range of music and heritage themes
• School visits to the venue tailored to your requirements, which can include music workshops from professional artists, backstage tours, and talks from our staff about roles within the music industry
• Meet artists, and watch and review a live performance, at Band on the Wall or in your own school
• Access to our online teaching resources for use in your classroom

Arts Award

Arts Award supports young people from primary years up to age 25, who want to deepen their engagement with the arts, build creative and leadership skills and achieve a national qualification from Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England.

Band on the Wall is proud to be an Arts Award centre, with Discover and Explore award assessors on our staff.

Individuals age 8-12 have the option of working towards their Discover or Explore awards through our Saturday morning workshop programme World of Music Journeys. Please contact learning@bandonthewall.org if you are interested in registering your child for Journeys, and let us know if would like them to work towards an Arts Award.

Schools who would like help during every step of their first Arts Award can take advantage of our Arts Award Discover Package. This assists teachers in taking children and young people through the full process of collecting evidence in an individual arts log of their experiences of participating in arts activities, researching artists and their work, and sharing their arts discoveries. This package includes:

• The Band on the Wall Discover Education Pack – everything you need to register and record the process, worksheets including two fun learning activities to be completed before the venue visit, and two to be completed after.
• Full day visit to Band on the Wall, including music workshops, a performance by a professional artist and a guided reviewing exercise, and a tour of the venue.
• Contact and support from our learning programme team to guide you through the process and achieve your goals.
• Assessment from our team, and Arts Award Discover Certificates from Trinity College London for all students completing the programme (please note, certificates may take up to two months to arrive post completion).
