Renowned as one of Brazil’s most influential guitarists, singers, and songwriters, Toninho Horta is celebrated for his pivotal role in the “Clube da Esquina” movement alongside legends such as Milton Nascimento, Elis Regina, and Lô Borges.
Over his illustrious career, Horta’s music has transcended borders, performed and recorded by a diverse array of artists from Pat Metheny to Earth, Wind and Fire. With a prolific discography boasting over 1,000 recordings and 40 albums, his contributions to music are both vast and profound.
Horta’s artistry continues to garner international acclaim, most recently evidenced by his 2020 Latin Grammy Award for Best MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) Album for his project “Orquestra Fantasma.”
In 2024, Toninho Horta embarks on a highly anticipated world tour, marking his first UK performance in two decades. He will perform with Toninho Horta’s Orquestra Fantasma – featuring Lena Horta (flute), Andre Dequech (keys), Yuri Popoff (bass) and Cuca Teixeira (drums).
