Creating Opportunity Through Music
Following the successful pilot of the groundbreaking Wall of Sounds music engagement project, Band on the Wall and Brighter Sound launched the Band on the Wall Foundation in 2013.
With a target of £1 million, the Foundation will provide a sustainable income to fund a music engagement programme, creating a centre for young people and emerging musicians to develop their talent and find on-going support.
The work of the Foundation will take us into communities with enormous challenges. It will give a musical voice to children and young people who suffer from economic deprivation, low educational achievement, gang violence, poverty and isolation.
Together, Band on the Wall and Brighter Sound will work with people who face these challenges and, through music, provide ways in which they can understand and overcome them.
Music Changes Lives
Your contributions will enable us to provide:
- A wide range of courses and facilities to expand horizons
- Masterclass events with established national and international musicians
- Specific training and mentoring to extend skills
- Performance opportunities and a career path to enrich young peoples’ lives
It’s more than seven years since Band on the Wall re-launched following major refurbishment. Since opening the doors to the new-look venue in 2009 we’ve gone from strength to strength, delivering a multiple award-winning programme supported by a unique learning and participation offer that has allowed us to engage with young people, emerging musicians, and the wider community.
We now want to build on our success and create a unique facility with more dedicated space for learning and participation activity, along with an increased venue capacity that will enable us to bring more globally-renowned artists to Band on the Wall. We’ve provisionally raised £2m, but to realise our ambition, we need to raise a further £500k.
We’re offering you the chance to be part of our plan through our special, limited-edition membership packages. Packages start at just £30, so treat yourself, your organisation or a loved one to a Band Pass today. Find out more here.
