Composer, bandleader and saxophonist Chris Potter returns to the UK for the second edition of the Jazz Directors Series this April, taking in four shows in Manchester, Warrington, Morecambe and Bradford with the Inner City Ensemble.
One of the finest jazz saxophone players in the world, Potter’s discography spans over 100 albums and his influence on the next generation of musicians is apparent, with DownBeat magazine calling him “One of the most studied (and copied) saxophonists on the planet”.
Following on from the success of the first Jazz Directors Series in September 2016 with trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard, Chris Potter heads up the next edition; the musicians making up the Inner City Ensemble will be selected through an open call application process – details of the open call will be released soon.
