The Electronic Exchange is the collaborative musical project of Najia Bagi and Tullis Rennie. Releasing their first EP last year on Concrete Moniker, they played their first gig in Manchester to critical acclaim. The concept behind the project is perhaps indicative of future ways of making music: they do so remotely, and entirely via the Web. Najia is based in Manchester, and Tullis in Barcelona.
This year, The Electronic Exchange became Showcase winners of the FutureEverything festival, extending the reach of their compositional narrative to involve mainstream and classical musicians – including members of the esteemed Manchester Camerata Chamber Orchestra. Further plans for 2011 include a concert at the Apolo in Barcelona.
