XFM’s monthly live show and clubnight is back this month, with a very special show from the one and only Inspiral Carpets.
Original lead vocalist Stephen Holt says ‘ “This will be the first time we have played at Band on The Wall and I can’t wait – it’s a legendary Manchester music venue. It will also be great to try out some of the new album tracks alongside the classic greatest hits tunes and Dung 4 favourites.”
The Inspirals are releasing their legendary 1987 demo tape, ‘Dung 4’, for Record Store Day on April 19. The 11-song demo tape was originally given a limited cassette-only release in 1989 to coincide with the release of the Manchester band’s single ‘Joe’, but has been unavailable since. The release adds a four-song 7” of another 1987 demo, ‘Cow’.
A new album, their first in 20 years, is due for release in September entitled simply Inspiral Carpets
And of course, XFM DJs Jo and Hattie will be providing music that rocks until the early hours; from game-changing classic anthems to new talent such as The Vaccines, Jake Bugg and Foals, you’re guaranteed to be dancing to the very best rock, indie and alternative music spanning both time and genre.
