U.S. Girls is the musical project of American artist Meghan Remy, who was born in Chicago in 1985 and is now based in Toronto. Starting in 2007, Remy began releasing lo-fi, experimental pop music as U.S. Girls, initially working solo with a tape machine. Over time, her sound evolved to include more polished production and collaborations with other musicians.

After moving to Toronto, she signed with 4AD and released several acclaimed albums, including Half Free (2015), In a Poem Unlimited (2018), and Heavy Light (2020). Known for blending catchy pop with thought-provoking lyrics, Remy’s work explores social and political themes, earning her widespread critical praise.
