Join us as we go back to the roots of tap dancing– improvised dance with live jazz from the amazing Michael Cretu Trio and special guest dancers. The culmination of the latest Tap Rhythm Project course at Band on the Wall; dancers from beginners to pro take the stage hosted by dancer/choreographer and Tap Rhythm Project founder Jess Murray. Whether you want to dance or simply enjoy seeing tap danced with great local jazz musicians, this is an event that everyone will enjoy.
If you fancy a tap try-out we have shoes that you can use on the free ‘Renegade Stage’ taster workshop at 7pm in the Picturehouse with course tutor Karen Wood. No experience necessary. Tap shoes provided.
The amazing Junior Laniyan will run a SPECIAL OPEN WORKSHOP before the main event kicks off on the main stage for intermediate and advanced tappers in Education Room 1 from 6.30-7.30pm. Price £12 payable at the Box Office as you arrive. NB Please enter through the Red Door for this workshop.
Children under 16 are welcome to this evening as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
