Join us as we go back to the roots of tap dancing– improvised dance with live jazz from the Tap Rhythm Project Trio and special guest dancers from 8pm. The culmination of the latest Tap Rhythm Project course at Band on the Wall; dancers from beginners to pro take the stage hosted by dancer/choreographer and Tap Rhythm Project founder Jess Murray. Whether you want to dance or simply enjoy seeing tap danced with some great local jazz musicians, this is an event that everyone will enjoy.
Jess Murray will host a special open tap workshop in Education Room 1 from 6.30-7.30pm immediately before the gig starts. More details HERE.
If you fancy a tap try-out we have shoes that you can use on the free ‘Renegade Stage’ taster workshop at 7pm in the Picturehouse with course tutor Karen Wood. No experience necessary. Tap shoes provided.
The night starts at 7.30pm with a set from the Band on the Wall L&P Improvisation Group under the direction of Darren Lloyd playing special arrangements and new material devised over the last term.
Children under 16 are welcome to this evening as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
