Space Monkeys were the last ever band signed by Tony Wilson to the seminal Factory Records Label, after spotting them play a gig in the basement of the Hacienda in 1995. Two years later the band sold a quarter of a million records worldwide through the success of the Billboard top 40 hit ‘Sugar Cane’. Ian Brown, Liam Gallagher and Irvine Welsh were all spotted at Space Monkeys gigs in the late 90’s. The cult Manchester band are back to play Band on the Wall for a special hometown show, following a string of sold out reunion shows and festival appearances at Kendal Calling and the Shiiine On Weekender, 2016.
