Brighter Sound presents a special Sing City Live night to end the spring term, welcoming back Liverpool’s Enchord for ‘A Tale of Two Cities’.
Sing City Live, our under 18’s performance night at Band on the Wall, features the best new material written by young people from our regular Sing City sessions. Showcasing Manchester’s up-and-coming music talent, Sing City Live is a great opportunity for young musicians to share their material and perform at one of the city’s most iconic music venues.
For our final Sing City Live night of the term, we welcome back Liverpool’s young songwriters Enchord, for a special collaborative performance of music composed for A Tale of Two Cities.
A Tale of Two Cities is led by Landlife National Wildflower Centre, Manchester City Council and the Friends of Everton Park. Using arts, music and popular science, A Tale of Two Cities builds bridges for involvement and excitement around the transformation of public spaces using native wildflowers. Working with the playfulness of music in both cities, the project draws on a range of styles from classical Chinese dub to Manchester soul. A Tale of Two Cities has featured at festivals such as Out of the Blue in Everton Park, and Manchester International Festival.
Last year we launched the first phase of A Tale of Two Cities, recording new music at Parr Street Studios in collaboration with Liverpool’s young songwriters, Enchord. Following two special Sing City sessions this March, young musicians from Sing City and Enchord take to the stage to perform new pieces composed in response to migration.
