Brighter Sound presents a special Sing City Live night to start the year, welcoming award-winning folk fusion quintet Project Jam Sandwich.
Sing City Live, our under 18’s performance night at Band on the Wall, features the best new material written by young people from our regular Sing City sessions. Showcasing Manchester’s up-and-coming music talent, Sing City Live is a great opportunity for young musicians to share their material and perform at one of the city’s most iconic music venues.
This month, we welcome back Manchester’s world folk fusion quintet Project Jam Sandwich to perform live on stage alongside our young musicians. Together they will perform music composed during a series of songwriting and arrangement workshops earlier in month.
Hailing from Manchester, Project Jam Sandwich are a world folk fusion quintet of award-winning musicians. Concocting a captivating set of exhilarating improvisations, infectious rhythm and beautiful melody from around the globe, their music has situated them as rising stars in their field. They’ve performed at prestigious events including the BBC Proms and their exuberant live performances regularly bring audiences to their feet.

Sing City Live has successfully partnered with other musical and creative projects from across Manchester to meet up and share a growing body of work. Like-minded young people are encouraged to work together and collaborate on new ideas, with key support from our team of professional musicians and practitioners.
Many Sing City regulars have formed musical partnerships and together they make use of the Sing City Live platform to showcase their new material. Over the past year Sing City Live has seen performances ranging from solo folk and acoustic artists, emerging hip-hop rappers, to indie and rock bands. The night belongs to the young musicians; it’s their chance to shine.
