Manchester’s own Riot Jazz Brass Band are performing two very special shows at Band on the Wall to record a ‘live’ album for release in Spring 2017.
Riot Jazz Brass Band is a 9-piece brass band consisting of trumpets, trombones, a sousaphone, drums and an MC. They play a uniquely twisted mix of funk, soul, hip-hop and aggressive jazz.
The band has featured at festivals around the world over the past five years. Recent performances include West Holts Stage at Glastonbury, The Big Red Tent at Womad, Soundwave, Kendal Calling, London Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival as well as being invited to play on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.
The band navigate a minefield of original aggro jazz, hip hop samples, funked-up favourites and re-interpreted dubstep, drum’n’bass and dance floor bangers that never fail to excite.
