Re-imagining Your Venue: Music-Net Training Day

  • Thursday | 24.11.22
  • 11.00am
  • Band on the Wall, Manchester
  • Free Signup

This special event is aimed at venue owners, managers and promoters. In these increasingly difficult times we look at ways to link up with the local community, create new programming strands and potentially develop new business.

We have two special guest speakers. Sybil Bell, co-founder of Independent Venue Week will talk about her new Independent Venue Community Initiative (IVC) which encourages small venues to offer daytime programmes of music-based activities in order to attract new audiences.

Our second speaker is Craig Pennington, co-founder of Future Yard in Birkenhead. Craig will talk about how he and the Future Yard team have created one of the most exciting new spaces in the UK in a building that re-imagines the role of a live music venue, providing live industry training and a regional hub for artist development. The hard work and vision of the Future Yard team has been recently rewarded as they have been chosen as one of the new projects to become an Arts Council funded National Portfolio Organisation. Craig will tell us how it was done!

Finally, as part of this special event there will be an opportunity to take a tour of the fantastic new developments at Band on the Wall including the newly-expanded venue, workshop and learning facilities.

As always with Music-Net events, we will allow time for talking and sharing. To that end a spot of light lunch and drinks will be provided. So please book your place!

Places are free, but signup is required.

Music-Net is a partnership between producer and promoter Root Music and Inner City Music owners and operators of iconic Manchester venue Band on the Wall, funded by Arts Council England.
