Seckou Keita is a Senegalese virtuoso master of the Kora – Africa’s magical 21-stringed harp that is simultaneously percussive and melodic and requires incredible musical skills to play. One of the leaders of the newest generation of African traditional musicians and a member of Senegal’s royal Keita dynasty, he fuses the traditional forms and instruments with those of other cultures. He has performed all over the world with some of biggest names in global music including support slots with Salif Keita and Youssou N’Dour and as drummer for Baka Beyond. A totally free concert featuring Seckou and his full live band, join us for what promises to be a fantastic celebration with a great party atmosphere.

This free event will begin at 7pm.

Presented by Band on the Wall in association with We Face Forward – a season of contemporary art and music from West Africa, celebrated across Manchester as part of the London 2012 Festival. www.wefaceforward.org
