It’s a tough time for grassroots venues and promoters. Join us for practical support and guidance as well as opportunities to meet fellow promoters and venue managers at the first in a series of training and networking events from Music-Net, a partnership between producer and promoter Root Music, and historic venue and national promoters, Band on the Wall.
This event will provide an overview of new opportunities for funding and support for grassroots venues, followed by a session on setting up and maintaining efficient venue management, box office and financial systems.
The event is free and is aimed at operations and venue management staff at grassroots venues.
Music Venue Trust
Mark Davyd – CEO, Music Venue Trust
Mark is CEO of the Music Venue Trust, which was created in 2014 with the aim of securing the long-term future of iconic grassroots music venues. MVT has achieved much more over a short time and Mark is coming to Manchester to tell us about the work of MVT, the opportunities it is creating and how we can get involved.
Venue Management Systems
Running a successful venue requires efficient systems to support good programming and venue management. Gavin and Sally will give an overview the systems at Band on the Wall, who programme over 300 shows per year and Ruth will talk about how things work at YES, one of Manchester’s newest venues.
Gavin Sharp – CEO, Band on the Wall
Sally Cook – Director of Operations, Band on the Wall
Ruth Hemmingfield – Co-owner, YES
Music-Net is a partnership between producer and promoter Root Music and Inner City Music, owners and operators of iconic Manchester venue Band on the Wall, funded by Arts Council England.
