Austrian percussionist Manu Delago has released albums and played venues around the world with his specialist instrument – The Hang. He has collaborated with the likes Bjork and members of the London Symphony Orchestra, and is making waves across classical and contemporary music and sound art scenes.
For his latest project, ‘Manu Delago Handmade’, he is working with with producer Matt Robertson (Björk, The Prodigy). The new material explores a vast array of sounds ranging from sweet and delicate vocal lines with colourful Hang accompaniment, to chunky electronica. The sound of the ensemble is mature and well balanced, demonstrating an understanding of orchestration, moulding and continually changing sonic textures to create a different sound world with each piece.
