Following the success of his ‘Merchant of Manny’ EP and the buzz around his current single ‘Round Here’ which features Manchester soulstress Layfullstop, J.Chambers returns to Band on the Wall for his ‘Moment of Silence II’ pre-release party.
Manchester is steeped in musical heritage and has a rich rap legacy. In recent times we have been experiencing a renaissance of gigantic proportions with the rise of some of the UK’s biggest names blossoming from under the concert slabs of inner city Mancunia. Enter, J Chambers. Part of a new wave of Manchester talent who have been taking the UK by storm. But he stands out with something a little bit different.
J is one of those special artists; the ones who speak through the soul and not the ego. He possesses an earthy realism and rare ability to connect with the audience. Captivating and charismatic, his delivery is sharp, controlled and concise. After a string of independent releases, Chambers has firmly stamped his name into the UK hip hop elite, and his live performances have him highly respected on the circuit, supporting some of the most respected hip hop artists in the world; Dead Prez, Oddisee, Akala and Roots Manuva. He even kicked a hip hop cypher with Kendrick Lamar! Back to back, bar for bar with one of the greatest rappers this generation has seen. It is safe to say J Chambers has arrived, and isn’t going away any time soon.
Chambers has announced that his new body of work, ‘Moment of Silence II : The Road to Perdition’, is scheduled for release in late February, and so to celebrate J will be performing this very special headline show, playing the LP in its entirety. This is a chance for you to hear the project live a whole month before the release.

Dane: At 21 years old, alternative Hip Hop artist Dane is on a mission to rebrand Manchester as a musical force in the north by creating his own dark, atmopheric yet minimalistic sound. Having recently made it onto the worldwide platform GRM Daily, Dane is gearing up for a string of new releases in anticipation for a forthcoming project this summer.
Layfullstop: Manchester soulstress Layfullstop is one quarter of Cul de Sác and a unique vocalist, who uses aspects of singing and babble as a way to bring forward aspects of Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop to the modern forefront.
E-Thrilla: Manchester rapper E-Thrilla has collaborated with Dane on two recent tracks and released his mixtape To Be a Star last year.
Lucy Mae & Wherezneekz: Manchester-based soul singer Lucy Mae and rapper/poet Wherezneekz collaborated on Through You in early 2016 and bring those same soul, jazz and hip hop vibes to the stage.
