Presenting Inner City Waves #14 – a free-entry showcase of some of our favourite local emerging urban artists, featuring NoSpace, Taff Jr, Sarah Angel, Scott Xylo and DJ Meme Gold.

NoSpace
NoSpace are a collective based in Manchester. Known for their highly diverse styles & kinetic live shows, these young musicians radiate energy, and easily duck between Grime, HipHop, Latin, Dancehall & more. Their debut project ‘The Out Of Body EP’ was released in early 2018 and they have since headlined hometown shows and supported acts such as Mic Righteous, Children of Zeus & The Mouse Outfit.

Taff Jr
Taff Jr. (aka Tom Barber-Redmore) is a Manchester-native, soul and hip-hop inspired, singer, guitarist & songwriter.
Taff Jr. has been singing and recording backing-vocals for many UK artists and bands including; Lauren Housley, Alice Gasson, Charlie Cooper, Dominic Lawson and James Bradshaw. Since 2014, he has also been writing, recording and performing with hip-hop/soul/electronica outfit; Family Ranks, co-writing and recording two EPs, with nationwide radio-play, including BBC Radio 1Xtra and 6 Music.

Sarah Angel
Sarah Angel first released Phonecall in January which featured on Footaslyum’s Winter Fashion Campaign and since then she has gone on to be interviewed by numerous radio stations as well as finding a passion in her live performances.
​Miss Angel explores the sound of Soul, Funk, House, Disco, but would describe her sound as more experimental.
Inspired by the likes of Jill Scott, Will.I.Am, Prince, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Missy Elliot, Ru Paul and many more innovative geniuses, expect to hear lots of wordplays, double entendres, visualization and insights into her life.

Scott Xylo
Scott Xylo has dropped his debut album ‘Find Us When You Get There’ on Black Acre Records (recent winner at the AIM Awards for best small label). Championed by Gilles Peterson, Kojey Radical as well as being spotlighted on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music show, check out a review with The Quietus here.
