Cosmic warriors and psychedelic legends Hawklords beam down and hit the road to tour their first studio album for 34 years plus all their classic tracks with full lightshow and head thrills for all. Plus very special appearance by cerebral lysergic frontiersmen GNOD.
Born from the swirling cauldron of the disbanded Hawkwind in 1978, Hawklords were the new wave psych vision of the late great frontman Robert Calvert. Under his direction they released 25 Years On – their only full studio album until September this year when they release We Are One. Comprising of brand new material, the album and tour feature key former Hawkwind personnel: the legendary synth man Harvey Bainbridge, keyboard wizard Steve Swindells, the rocking guitar of Jerry Richards, punk poet Ron Tree on vocals, the barnstorming bass of Adrian Shaw, plus Dave Pearce from The Bevis Frond on drums.
The band will be performing new and classic material down the ages – 2 hour set with full synapse-burning light show by Big Dave’s Lighthouse.
Very special guests tonight are the Manchester psychedelic noise collective GNOD whose extended, epic and extremely trippy live sets have led to them playing alongside everyone from Zombie Zombie and White Hills to Acid Mothers Temple.
This concert begins at 8pm but our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open from 5.30pm for delicious food and drinks.
