Friday Night Reggae presents a monthly reggae night, featuring a changing rosta of selectors, DJs and special guests. Roots Reggae from then until now will shake the foundations of Band on the Wall. Over the year legends in the field have graced the stage at the venue, these include artists such as Burning Spear, Horace Andy, Twinkle Brothers, Max Romeo and Prince Far I. Expect to hear tracks from these artists and many more, think Chronixx, Damian Marley, Luciano, Macka B, Jah Cure, Morgan Heritage, Etana, Frankie Paul, Ken Boothe, Cali P, Barry Brown, Culture, Sizzla, Black Uhuru, Warrior King, Queen Ifrica, Jah9 and more.
Each month The Mighty Bush band will perform on stage to drop riddim tracks you know and love, with engineers on the controls paying tribute to those masters who created the sound of reggae and dub such as Prince Jammy, Lee Scratch Perry and King Tubby. Resident selectors warm up the crowd and we have a special guest to round off the night and bring it into the early morning.
The second instalment of this regular show is a night called “Brand New Second Hand”. Mr Womble (Legacy 90.1) hosts the event, joining the dots between resident; Jahwaine, live sound from The Mighty Bush Band and our guest this month on the controls – Wizzy Dan (Legacy 90.1), from the legendary original manchester sound – Baron Turbo Charge.
The venue will be transformed with visuals to inspire, reflect and entertain. This night is about good vibes and big tunes.
