Band on the Wall presents Free Jazz – a free-entry event showcasing some of the most exciting new artists pushing genre boundaries, playing jazz, electronic, hip-hop, funk, soul and experimental sounds. Come down and discover new music from the likes of WICC, Green Tangerines, Aeon Fitch and JD Roberts. Entry is free, so come on down. WICC are a quintet that look inside house, funk, disco, RnB, soul and jazz to find nice grooves, bops and bounces.

Green Tangerines
Green Tangerines blend jazz, funk and soul to make what they dub ‘jazz for twenty year olds’.

Aeon Fitch
Aeon Fitch returns to Free Jazz. Aeon Fitch is the music writing pseudonym of Peter Mitchell, a multi-instrumentalist based in Manchester. With music influences like Sigor Ros, Bjørk, Mogwai, Bink Beats and Bill Laurence, he has created an ethereal sound world like no other.

JD Roberts
JD Roberts is a Liverpool/Manchester-based composer and musician, making minimalist/ambient/jazz compositions

This is a standing show.

Open from 5pm on gig nights, our bar is the perfect pre-show meeting place. Every gig night we serve up a range of freshly-prepared pizza, bar snacks, over 50 speciality gins with paired tonic waters, beers, wines, fine spirits and more.
