Band on the Wall presents Free Jazz – a free-entry event showcasing some of the most exciting new artists pushing genre boundaries, playing jazz, electronic, hip-hop, funk, soul and experimental sounds. Come down and discover new music from the likes of University of Manchester Jazz Ensemble, Nefaerious and Wandering Monster. Entry is free, so come on down. University of Manchester Jazz Ensemble
University of Manchester music lecturer Alexander Gagatsis heads up the University of Manchester Jazz Ensemble.

Nefaerious
Leeds-based four-piece Nefaerious incorporate contemporary jazz styles with story-led lyricism to create a distinctive and unusual take on songwriting.

Wandering Monster
Wandering Monster perform intricately arranged instrumental rock music which draws upon jazz sensibilities and sound worlds. Made up of five crossover musicians highly active on the northern scene, the group reach beyond what may be expected from the tried and tested line-up of the tenor saxophone/guitar quintet.

This is a standing show.

Open from 5pm on gig nights, our bar is the perfect pre-show meeting place. Every gig night we serve up a range of freshly-prepared pizza, bar snacks, over 50 speciality gins with paired tonic waters, beers, wines, fine spirits and more.
