Performing all his hits alongside brand new material, Band on the Wall presents the incredible voice of David McAlmont performing with Guy Davies in their new outfit Fingersnap

David McAlmont has been referred to ‘As one of the Great British Singers’ by Mojo. From his success with Bernard Butler (McAlmont and Butler) and David Arnold it was only a matter of time before a new and equally inspiring collaboration was formed – welcome to Fingersnap!

“McAlmont’s voice, brimming with pain and aching with desperate persuasion in every one of its many octaves, is one of music’s most unique”The Guardian

Fingersnap is the creative coupling of artist David McAlmont and musical tour-de-force Guy Davies. Fingersnap’s first release comes in the form of the Smokehouse EP that was written whilst on a writing retreat in Ireland early 2010 and recorded in London over that summer.

Guy and David originally met back in 1997, when they were introduced by producer Steve Leroni. Their friendship blossomed with untold live and studio collaborations, including work on the album ‘A Little Communication’ and ‘Set One: You Go To My Head’. David’s musical journey of course has been an eclectic and varied one, seeing him achieve mainstream success and critical acclaim with a number of musical partners including Bernard Butler, David Arnold and composer Michael Nyman.

“Earlier this year Guy and I went to Ireland to write and play some gigs. The writing that emerged was tougher, starker and more conscious than anything I’d done before and it felt like a new statement, a new band. It felt like the new material would perfectly book-end the last 20 years of the ‘McAlmont Thing’ so we decided that it should be called something new and after much deliberation, we finally settled on Fingersnap!” David McAlmont
