“There’s no choir in the world quite like this one – love it to bits!”

Led once again by the amazing Jules Gibb the Picturehouse Choir welcomes all comers, all ages, all abilities. Learn songs from all around the globe and in many styles from traditional folk to gospel in a friendly social atmosphere. All songs are taught in the aural tradition and recorded for the choir to download and practice. Great fun for all who love to sing. The choir will also be performing as part of the Manchester Day Parade event.

No previous singing or musical experience necessary. No auditions needed. If you want to come along and try it out before you subscribe just come along and give it a go.

Global Grooves: Exodus Samba Reggae. 7.15-9.15pm in the Main Venue

“Movement of the people” Bob Marley.

This exciting seven week course for drummers, dancers and brass players will lead to a performance at the Manchester Day Parade on Sunday 19th June performing a special arrangement of the Marley classic Exodus. In the process study the traditions and styles of north-eastern Brazilian Bloco with a Jamaican Reggae and Hip Hop twist.  You will have an opportunity to work with some of Manchester’s very best percussion, dance and brass tutors. The course this term is open to all levels of experience and skill from complete beginner to advanced. Lively up yourself!

Jazz Guitar: 6.45-9.15 in Education Room 1

By popular demand we are starting a course specifically for Jazz Guitarists led by the award winning teacher and performer Kathy Dyson. We are very lucky to have the Parliamentary Jazz Educator of the year on our list of amazing tutors. Kathy will run a taster session for intermediate and advanced players who want to extend their Jazz skills.
