Moving from the mellow Californian coast to the wind-torn waves of Western Ireland, Amelia Baker’s sound has always celebrated the sea. Under the moniker Cinder Well, she experiments with folk music to bring the genre to impressive new heights. With her newest LP, Cadence, Amelia expands on the doom folk sound the project is known for by incorporating percussions, trance, electric guitar and expansive string parts – with help from Lankum’s Cormac MacDiarmada.
Joined on tour by the talented Jim Ghedi and Ultan O’Brien, Amelia uplifts traditional folk music and elevates it into something ethereal. Her stunning vocal ability and the intricate melodies that accompany them bring to life these oceanic tales.
