Bury Music Summer Festival

Join Bury Music Service for the first night of their Summer Festival. A packed evening showcasing the talent of the young musicians in both their Bury Rocks! band programme and their Bury Folk Ensemble, alongside their adult All Comers Choir and their guests The UkyBoBs.

All four of the Bury Rocks! bands have gone from strength to strength this year, developing their instrumental and vocal techniques, band skills and songwriting. The Folk Ensemble has also developed its songwriting alongside improvisation and playing by ear, to form a tight knit group of young musicians.  The All Comers Choir is their group of adults who meet weekly to sing in a relaxed environment, covering a wide variety of styles and learning harmonies.

They are delighted to be joined by guests The UkyBoBs (officially ‘The Ukulele Band of Bury’). They are an acoustic band made up of amateur musicians who love to get together to play and sing their favourite songs. They play mainly Ukuleles, but also have Banjos, Percussion, Bass Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica and other instruments. They have regular weekly rehearsals, occasional workshops for the teaching and development of their players, and they also regularly perform at events.  They meet at Bury Music Service every Tuesday morning from 10 till 12. Outside of their musical activities, the group aims to support charitable organisations using the donations they receive for their performances.
