Back by popular request, a combined dance and fitness course open to beginners and dance enthusiasts alike that fuses the rhythms and swing of Afro-Brazilian percussion with the grace and energy of Brazilian dance.
Sessions are taught by Bridget Withycombe-Wharton (from 16th Jan to 20th Feb) and Adriana Rosso. Adriana studied with and has worked as lead dancer and teacher for Gaviões Da Fiel Samba School and Meninos do Murumbi in Sao Paolo and currently for Bangdrum CIC and Global Grooves in the UK. She has vast experience in working on large community projects including on the last two Manchester Day parades including choreographies for all levels and ages. Adriana is an exceptional performer and choreographer with a vast experience in international dance styles, regularly teaching and performing all over the world.
Styles that will be taught on this course include Samba, Samba Reggae, Ijexa, Axé, Maracatu, Frevo and many others.
If you love moving your body and burning major calories, you are going to enjoy these Brazilian dance & fitness classes. A great way to keep shape while learning some of the culture and traditional dance styles of Brazil.
We will work on physical exercises and fun choreographies that will give you a great workout and put a smile on your face. It’s all about letting the rhythms move you and celebrating life in a Brazilian way!
