In partnership with Brighter Sound and Community Arts North West, Amani Creatives brings the much anticipated return of Amani Live; a monthly contemporary African music event in the relaxed surroundings of the Picturehouse Bar at Band on the Wall, featuring music, storytelling, spoken word, dance, visual art and food from the African diaspora.
Bigger and better, this year’s Amani Live will share some of the hottest new talent from the North West taking you on a journey of discovery into the myriad of traditional and contemporary art forms from the African continent and beyond.
From the traditional sounds of Congolese Soukous, Tanzanian Taarab, Cameroonian Makosa, Rwandan Intore, Schelles’ Segasega, Algerian Rai, Caribbean Islands’ Zouk, Western Africa Highlife, Zimbabwean Jit, Angolan Anzoto to contemporary crossover genres such as Afro-Jazz, African World Music, African Classical, R&B and Hip Hop, Amani Live offers a snapshot of the huge cultural influence of Africa.
