For a jubilant insight into Ghanian highlife, look no further than the Frafra-Gospel afrofunk of Alogte Oho & His Sounds of Joy. Inspired by his early experiences in his village’s church, he was drawn to music from a young age. His reputation as an endlessly creative tour de force within his homeland of Ghana has been brewing since 2012 – in fact, he’s so well-loved, he’s been invited to almost all the Frafra communities that exist there.
Now, he is celebrating the success of his newest album, O Yinne!, which solidifies his spot at the top of Frafra-Gospel singers. Blending reggae, gospel and afro beats together for something wholly original, he brings an animated and enthusiastic live performance to Band on the Wall.
