Electro-disco-noise-punk duo AK/DK return to Manchester with their new single ‘Defragment To Survive’.

AK/DK’s forthcoming single ‘Defragment To Survive’ is further proof of this raucous live band’s ability to not only smash a show, but also craft a tune. Crashing drums and motorik synths combine with a truly rousing outro that screams for Peace Love Unity and Respect. They draw influence from Devo, Kraftwerk and The Units, and inject it with a massive shot of adrenaline.

When asked about the meaning behind the song the band said: “we’re being split into an increasingly fragmented society by algorithms and propaganda; this is our joyful call to arms for unity and love.”

AK/DK topped the list of many people’s favourite festival performances last year, particularly with their infamous secret show at End of the Road 2018 where they invited their mates Snapped Ankles to join them for an extra special drums and synths wigout.

2018 saw them play a series of sold out UK tour shows and circa 20 UK/EU festivals including End of the Road, Bluedot, The Great Escape and Lunar in the UK, as well as festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Spain. The band also toured Brazil & Argentina in November.

“…think Battles or Errors with the intensity turned right up, and possibly playing after a few gin-and-petrol cocktails” – Clash

This is a standing show. A Band on the Wall Fundraiser. Presented by Band on the Wall and Manchester Psych Fest.
