Acoustic Bhuna, Band on the Wall’s free entry acoustic sessions – usually found in the Picturehouse on Sundays – presents a very special Friday night showcase.

Jamie Brewer is a breathtakingly skilled guitarist whose beautifully crafted songs are imbued with an emotive, spine-tingling musicality. A lap-tapping guitarist in the style of Andy McKee and Eric Mongrain, Jamie Brewer would not look out of place in the company if either of those fantastic players. With his video, ‘Songbird’ picking up thousands of youtube hits, the future’s looking bright for Jamie. Catch him playing for free whilst you still can!

Manchester’s finest purveyor of the modern-day folk song, Mathew Gray, returns to Band On The Wall’s Picturehouse stage for a rare solo performance. Mathew’s lyrics, always insightful, are often laugh-out-loud funny and are augmented perfecty by his accomplished finger-style guitar playing.  This will be a real treat for anyone who appreciates good song writing.

Hailing from Knutsford, Ash Hunter is the very epitome of the modern day folk song writer. Ash‘s songs are elegant, dreamy narratives of day-to-day life in his native Cheshire, with simple, poignant melodies interlacing beautifully with his spacious, melodic fingerpicking style.

The kitchen and bar are open from 5pm, serving our excellent homemade curries and ale selection*
