A Queer Revue! at Band on the Wall is a quarterly cabaret and clubnight that brings together new and established acts for an anything-goes performance/party. Friday 2nd of December is the next outing, featuring a cutting-edge collection of DJs, stage and bar performances from the coolest Manchester and London acts:
ON THE DECKS …
Music from DJs Anthony Crank (Off The Hook, Rebel Rebel) and Rod Connolly of the legendary Bollox Club.
IN THE BAR …
Charlie Craggs of Nail Transphobia
Trans activist and nail artist Charlie brings her famous pop-up nail salon to Band on the Wall’s Picturehouse Bar where she will give one-on-one manicures and chat sessions, discussing beauty, activism and trans life.
Tarot-reading with Barnacle Beryl, the old sea Duchess…Back by popular demand!
There were queues all night at the last Queer Revue to experience the mystical powers of tarot mystic, Barnacle Beryl. Cross her palm with silvers and she will unfold your future…
ON THE STAGE…
Zsa Zsa Noir
Manchester drag pioneer, underground pop star, fashion icon. Zsa Zsa brings her fierce self to the Queer Revue stage to show you exactly who’s daddy… and mommy…
Astounding vocalist and drag shape-shifter, Eva Serration has wowed the crowd at the legendary Cha Cha Boudoir and beyond and now breaks new ground with two performances at A Queer Revue.
Flying the flag for women in drag, Ivy Profemme’s divine persona combines drag and burlesque in one. Performing for over two years, her stage outings have been described as both ‘liberating and captivating’.
And all the way from London…Ray Filar
Ray is a writer, performer and growing star of the London underground. While most drag kings send up the hyper-masc world of str8 bros and dudes, Ray’s stage antics also delve into the world of queer masculinity too. Prepare to be lampooned with love with Ray’s unique satirical style of gender-blending.
Past events at A Queer Revue! have included the launch party for the Queer Contact Festival, a Trans Takeover Special featuring Kate O’Donnell’s premier of her Corrie-inspired trans stage piece ‘Hayley & Me’, music from Belfast’s Venus Dupree, a live band night to launch the Manchester Histories Festival featuring LIINES, iLL, Husk and Menage a Trois, plus astonishing star turns from Dublin’s Radical Faerie Stefan Fae, Anna Phylactic, Lill, Grace Oni Smith, Joshua Hubbard, Joyce D’Vision, Monopoly Phonic, Marilyn Misandry, Cheryl Martin, Yandass, Bryony Bates, Adam Beyonce Lowe, Beckie Fox, Stef Elrick, Elecktra Lightorchestra, Carmilla the Lesbian Vampire and more, not to mention elements of mysticism, make-up, Vogue and Ballroom, the Spice Girls, Anthony Hegarty, live poetry on the telephone, short films, drag-rap, stand-up comedy, renegade performance art and drag singing competitions.
