Thrax Punks began as an exploration of Thrace, Greece’s, traditional folk music before the members began to experiment with modern aesthetics and various, fresh musical genres from further afield.
Formed of a gaida (bagpipe), davul (drum) and an electric guitar, these modern aesthetics include live looping, mixtures of psychedelic and math rock, thrashy guitars and a frenetic punk energy. The high calibre of their live shows has led them to perform at many of the biggest Greek festivals and around Europe as a whole. In recent years – now based in Athens – they have collaborated with a myriad of renowned artists, recorded music for cinema, and performed in the ancient theatre of Epidarus.
Thrax Punks are a magnificent example of the diverse sounds from around the world that land blissfully on our stage.
