Our Weekly Programmes
The World of Music is Band on the Wall’s inclusive programme of music-making, offering welcoming, creative sessions for all ages and experience levels.
Most sessions run during school term time, with breaks over half term and the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays. Click on a session below to find out more or book your place. You can also learn more about the World of Music programme further down the page.

The World of Music
At Band on the Wall, our motto is Where the World Comes to Play. Alongside our award-winning live programme, we offer welcoming opportunities for people of all ages and experience levels to explore, learn and make music together.
Based in our purpose-built creative spaces above the venue, including rehearsal rooms, studios and a large group music space, our six-day-a-week programme offers something for everyone. From preschool family sessions and Saturday music-making for young people to adult choirs and even morning yoga, there’s plenty to discover.
We believe music should be accessible to everyone. Our spaces are fully accessible, and bursaries are available to help remove financial barriers.
Our Approach
Our programmes are built around a simple belief: everyone can make music.
We focus on:
- Fun first. Music should be enjoyable and inspiring.
- Learning by doing. Singing, listening, moving and playing together helps build musical confidence.
- Learning from each other. We encourage participants to share skills and support one another.
- Making music together. Playing in groups from the start helps people grow as musicians.
- Great tutors. Our experienced team creates supportive, inclusive environments where everyone can thrive.
Beyond Our Weekly Programme
We also deliver projects with schools, community groups and partner organisations across Greater Manchester. These include World of Song, created with Community Arts Northwest, which brings people and families together through music.
Our long-standing partnership with The Manchester College gives students valuable workplace experience. Students also help to produce our regular Monday evening events.

Our Courses
Music clubs for babies and toddlers to explore the joy of music. Have fun, relax and socialise with other families.
Inclusive music learning and fun discovery adventures. Sing, dance, play instruments and work with professional musicians.
Choose from a range of workshops including yoga, choirs, jazz learning, and more.
Projects & Resources
Alongside our busy in-house programme, we offer workshops and education sessions in local schools and care homes.

For those wanting a more formal learning experience, our accredited courses delivered by the Manchester College offer a unique opportunity to develop your skills and gain the qualifications needed to help kickstart a career in the music industry.
