Band on the Wall continues its acclaimed reggae season bringing some of the world’s most legendary artists to Manchester. This unmissable evening presents no less than 3 performances featuring reggae legend Mykal Rose plus Andrew Tosh and The Ras Ites.

For over 25 years, Black Uhuru‘s lead singer Mykal Rose has been recording and performing his brand of militant, hardcore Jamaican music to the delight of reggae fans around the world. As a solo artist, with Black Uhuru, and back as a solo artist, the “Ruff” Rose has achieved great success throughout his career, even as different Jamaican musical styles have phased in and out of popularity. Perhaps the world’s most acclaimed modern roots artist Mykal Rose is one of reggae’s true superstars.

Andrew Tosh is the son of the late great reggae legend Peter Tosh. He’s been delighting audiences across the world with his brilliant live sets and Grammy-nominated recordings which, although influenced by his father, are very much in his own brilliant style.

Not since Aswad and Steel Pulse first rose to prominence a generation ago has UK reggae been blessed with such a talented group of young musicians as The Ras Ites. Like that of reggae’s golden era, in the seventies, the Ras Ites’ music blends social realism with a joyful spirituality that international audiences have already found irresistible.

Followed by free entry into our aftershow party featuring Unity Radio DJ Mikey Don spinning the reggae and dubbing it up until 2am.

This concert will begin at 9pm. Advance booking strongly advised.
