Austrian percussionist Manu Delago has released albums and played venues around the world with his specialist instrument – The Hang. He collaborates frequently with artists like Bjork and members of the London Symphony Orchestra, and is making a name for himself with fans of classical and contemporary music.
In his youth, he was trained in classical percussion, played the piano and drummed to a high level, moving to London further his musical education. When he discover the hang, an enchanting sound sculpture manufactured by PanArt in Switzerland, he discovered a passion for writing music along with it. His resultant Hang solo piece entitled “Mono Desire” has become an incredibly popular piece, and received plenty of attention online.
His performance at Band on the Wall see’s him play his signature instrument and other percussive instruments with a small ensemble complementing his subtle compositions and unique sound.
