While live music has been on pause, we’ve been busy working with a cohort of emerging artists from Manchester, recording full live sets over at fivefourstudios, Salford. These artists, who feature on the ‘2020’ compilation (available now via Band on the Wall Recordings) represent the future sound of Manchester – an outstanding collection of musicians whose work spans neo-soul, jazz, afro-electronic and more.
Weekly at 7pm Fridays, we present full sets from a different artist, broadcast ‘as-live’ for you to watch along. This week we present Yemi Bolatiwa.
Having recently been heard on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM and with performances on BBC Introducing Manchester, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC 1Xtra, London-born soul singer Yemi Bolatiwa is ready to make waves in the Manchester music scene with a brand new live show.
Yemi’s live act spans many forms, from an electronic quartet featuring viola and sax, to a dynamic 7-strong ensemble with soulful groove and energy. After being long-listed for Glastonbury’s emerging talent competition in 2020, you can be sure that when live music returns, Yemi will be gracing stages across the UK and beyond.
“A versatile vocalist, at home on an infectious pop song or a confessional soul track. There’s an effortlessness and smoothness to her delivery.” – Crack Magazine
Live-ish streams are free to watch, but these are extremely difficult times for independent artists. You’ll see a donations box at the bottom of this page where you can give as much or as little as you wish to help support the musicians.
100% of all proceeds go to the artist.
Note: If you can’t see the YouTube Premiere stream embedded on this page, try hitting refresh shortly before the broadcast time.
