If you’ve ever been to a gig in the run up to Christmas at Band on the Wall, you’ll know every year we have a big donations box by our door and we invite you to donate food, toiletries, clothing and other essential items for our collection, to be distributed to those in need at Christmas.
This year is very different, but people need more support than ever during these challenging times. So while we can’t do our usual collection, we’d still love for you to donate what you can to those in need.
Mustard Tree are our usual Christmas collection partners. Based just up the road in Ancoats, Mustard Tree helps people to change their lives, secure better accommodation and economic wellbeing. Their focus is on tackling both the causes and consequences of poverty and homelessness. Since 1994 they have created opportunities for people to help themselves through providing practical support, friendship, connections into work and improvements to health & wellbeing, alongside new experiences to encourage aspiration.
Nordoff Robbins are dedicated to investigating the impact that music therapy can have for those affected by life-limiting illness, isolation or disability, and this work ensures that their practice is effective and led by the real experiences of the people they support. Nordoff Robbins work hard to bring the benefits of music therapy to as many people as possible.
Many more people are using food banks this year – due to lost income, family crisis and pandemic-related job losses. Food banks are under more stress than ever, especially at Christmas time. Please give whatever you can spare.

Merry Christmas – here’s to a brighter 2021!
