Hiatus Kaiyote win ‘album of the year’ at Jazz FM awards

Last night, Hiatus Kaiyote won the award for album of the year at the annual Jazz FM awards. Their 2015 release Choose Your Weapon has been warmly received in jazz, hip hop and mainstream music circles, which is testament to the diverse range of sounds and styles it possesses.

Commenting on the album, Jazz FM state; ‘The album brings together influences from many different genres including R&B, African funk and progressive rock into a jazz setting. It is unusual in that the mood of the album changes frequently, often surprising the listener with a change in rhythm.’
