A great new 5 week short course at Band on the Wall. Group drum kit lessons for complete beginners and 1 to 1 lessons for intermediate players with Alex Platt. Drums and sticks provided.
Alex has 17 years of experience playing in bands spanning many genres and styles in live and studio recording settings as well as writing and recording his own material. His teaching approach is centred on the individual needs and tastes of the course participants. He will try to tailor the material to suit each learner.
Beginners Group Sessions: Learn the basic mechanics. Play simple universal grooves and beats from the first session. Introduce basic notation and reading skills. Play with other instruments and improve band skills. A great introduction to the art of the drum kit.
Intermediate One to One Lessons: Do you already play drums but feel you need some more inspiration and direction? In these one to one, 45 minute lessons drum tutor, Alex Platt can teach new styles, grooves and exercises to up your game and give you an edge. Completely genre spanning, from the double bass drum blast beats of the metal genres to the delicate shuffle grooves of funk/fusion. With a small consultation in the first lesson we can find the perfect direction to take your playing style.
We supply the drum kits and sticks.
Group and 1 to 1 sessions are open to all ages. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
