We Face Forward Closing Celebrations at Piccadilly Gardens

A free entry African themed musical celebration to mark the end of the city-wide We Face Forward festival of West African art and music –  a fantastic free festival party in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester, featuring the cream of professional West African performers currently resident in the Manchester area.

Throughout the afternoon Piccadilly Gardens will be alive with the sights and sounds of West Africa, including performances and music and craft workshops aimed at families.

Hosted by DJ Mayeva (Cultural Collage ALL FM), the main music stage will feature local West African talent from the Gambia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea and Cape Verde, including  kora player, Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh, master djembe player Sidik Dembele and a host of other local international talent, and culminating in a grand finale at the end of the day.

This spectacular free event will begin at 1pm and run right through to 6pm so bring down your family and friends for an afternoon of fantastic live music.
