BBC Radio 1Xtra & Radio 2 DJ Trevor Nelson makes his long awaited return to Manchester on Friday 19th December with the ultimate 90’s and 00’s throwback party!
Trevor Nelson, is the Hackney-born DJ who brought R&B, soul and reggae to mainstream UK radio. Starting with 80s warehouse parties, he later signed D’Angelo and Mica Paris at Cooltempo/EMI.
He’s best known for Rhythm Nation (Radio 1’s first R&B show, 1996–2013; revived on Radio 2 until Jan 2025) and Trevor Goes Old Skool on 1Xtra. His MTV Base show The Lick ran 1998–2009.
He’s won four MOBOs, a 2010 Sony Gold Lifetime Award and an MBE in 2002 for youth volunteering. Still packing venues with Soul Nation nights, he’s a UK music legend.
