Italomania: A New Wave Hits Manchester
For the very first time, Italomania is coming to Manchester, taking over the iconic Band on the Wall on February 1st.
This event celebrates a fresh chapter in dance music: the rising wave of Italian disco producers pushing boundaries and reshaping the sound of club culture. As the dominance of hard techno and dark trance fades, dancefloors across Europe are turning to something new—a dynamic, soulful energy. Today’s crowd craves eclectic, finely crafted DJ sets, with influences spanning house, indie dance, futuristic disco, and the growing buzz around neo-soul, jazz, and funk.
At the center of this shift is Italo Disco. Once an underground favorite, it’s now making waves at major festivals like Dekmantel and Coachella, and in DJ sets from icons like Peggy Gou, Honey Dijon, The Blessed Madonna, and Seth Troxler.
Curated by Berlin’s respected Toy Tonics label, Italomania brings together a fresh collective of Italian artists blending vibrant Italian vocals with innovative sounds. This night will explore the spectrum of disco—classic Italo, rare finds, Afro disco, NY punk funk, ’80s new wave, and indie dance—creating a high-energy celebration of past, present, and future.
