This Is The Kit is the musical project of Kate Stables playing banjo, guitar and a voice of unaffected clarity accompanied by her Wild Band creating primal and electric textures onto songs of unpretentious beauty.
A firm favourite with the critics, This Is The Kit have played a session on Radio 1 for Rob da Banks and on BBC 6 for Marc Riley (with another coming up in February 2012) and tracks have been played regularly on BBC 6 by Liz Kershw, Marc Riley, Cerys Mattews, Gideon Coe and many more. Come down and enjoy a night of truly magical music by a superbly gifted artist. Special guests tonight are the all-girl, all music trio One Sixth Of Tommy whose youthful, melodic, folky tinged sound made the critics sit up and take notice at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
“absolutely gorgeous, like an aural bath with the warm winter lapping over you” Cerys Matthews, BBC 6 Music
“Just one of the best things I’ve heard all year, the rest of the LP’s pretty good too….wonderful wonderful stuff” Gideon Coe, BBC 6 Music
“This Is The Kit should be knighted for the fact that they create a wonderfull atmosphere with one singer an accoustic guitar and percussion only”
