  • Manchester College present some of the best unsigned acts this city has to offer.

Coldside have been causing a rumble in Manchester and beyond. Most recently Coldside have been performing up and down the country and featuring on radio nationwide from BBC to Q The Music and many more.

In 2011 Coldside were dubbed the best unsigned act in Manchester, in a competition held by Key103 and Manchester City FC, with judges from Sony Records, Key103 and Cherry Lips PR. Winning the competition, Coldside went on to perform at the City of Manchester Stadium 3 times, to a capacity crowd of47,000. Not stopping with one award Coldside went on to win ‘Best Urban Act 2012’ in the Exposure Music Awards in London.

No strangers to performing, they have supported acts like Bluey Robinson, Akala and were the Main Support Act for Tinchy Stryder in Manchester this summer. The guys were also crowned ‘BBC Band of the Week’ thanks to BBC Introducing and performed at the BBC introducing showcase in Manchester.

Rum Thief began when Jot Green who, after playing as a drummer in bands for over ten years, decided to record some songs of his own. Booking into a studio, he performed the drums, guitars, vocals and backing vocals himself to form the EP Clouded Mind. Now needing a band, Jot acquired the help of ex band mates, guitarist Johnny Brown, bass player Iain McGowan and found drummer Matthew Eldridge to form the full line up for live shows.

This event will begin at 20:00 but our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open from 5:30pm for delicious food and drinks.
