Born out of the ferment of Manchester’s thriving music scene, The Breath are Cinematic Orchestra guitarist Stuart McCallum and singer and lyricist Rioghnach Connolly.
Occupying an intriguing space somewhere between anthemic rock, chilled ambient and nu-jazz, McCallum’s music allows Connolly to draw on her Irish folk influences with songs of birth and death, social struggle, motherhood and broken hearts. All delivered with a compelling emotional honesty and raw urgency against McCallum’s sublime electronic textures.
Here, due to the unique circumstances we find ourselves in for 2020, the Breath perform a special set as a duo, streamed live from Band on the Wall, on Monday July 6 at 7.30pm. They’ll be playing some of your Breath favourites, plus unveiling a brand-new song too.
