Banjos and fiddles, washboards and bones in hand, the Black Twig Pickers dived into the living tradition of old-time music that surrounded their homes in Southwest Virginia and never looked back. Expect a riot of North American mountain music laced with banjos, fiddles, National resonator guitars, washboards, bones and hollering. Support comes from Charlie Parr, a folk and country blues musician who is routinely labeled “authentic” and “the real deal” by fans and critics alike.
The Twigs have just signed to Thrill Jockey, who release their next album in August; Parr has tracks in the forthcoming ‘Aussie Western’ Red Hill; and there’ll be a tour split 7” on Great Pop Supplement – and the music will be a riot!
