Springboard Live provides outstanding young artists aged 16-25 across England with the opportunity to work with innovative events producers, as part of a national network of exceptional emerging talent. The Manchester leg, held here at Band on the Wall, will feature a lineup of regional acts alongside a headline performance from Manchester’s very own Abnormal Sleepz. Except some of the best new music, great vibes and the chance to be the first to witness new and emerging talent from around the country.

Featuring:

ABNORMAL SLEEPZ
Abnormal Sleepz is a prolific recording artist, songwriter, producer and DJ hailing from the heart of Moss Side, Manchester. He spent his early creative years on the grime, Hip hop and DJ circuit building his name and securing residencies in clubs in Ibiza as well as cities around the UK through BPM, SBTV & various other platforms. His recent ‘Meditape’ mixtape series saw Sleepz go through a process of evolution and heatedly embody ‘Abnormal Sleepz’; an artist who packs undeniable flavour, content, consciousness, waves and all the sauce to go with it. It’s safe to say that Abnormal Sleepz brings a soul-nourishing and enriching sound to an over saturated market and thankfully the balance is restored.

MAYA LAW & ALLERGY KID
A two piece hip hop collective, Allergy Kid (1/2 of group ‘Cabrakid’) have been described as a hybrid of genres including hip-hop, neo soul, and reggae. They appear at Band on the Wall ahead of their much anticipated new LP.

EDGES
Part of a north London upsurge of reckless electronics and tempered R&B, Edges’ uplifting music and banging beats combine global heritage, social vigilance and queer culture with a new perspective on what it means to be British today. Experimenting with perspective, Edges question gender, race and sexuality through collaborations in film, digital art and music, curating contemporary culture for messy millennials.

4TH PROJECT
4th Project are a Bristol-based electro-pop band whose music integrates soulful, ethereal vocals with keyboard, electric guitar and live electronics. The band, formed of vocalist Kathleen Fitzpatrick Milton, pianist Jack Drewry and guitarist Rowan Evans, shape their sound around their variety of musical influences including Soul, Pop, Jazz, Funk, Electronic Dance music and 90s R’n’B. They have been performing together for nearly two years with notable achievements that include being long listed for Glastonbury Festival Emerging talent competition 2016, supporting experimental folk band Lau on the Emerging Artist stage at Colston Hall and performing on the BBC EdFringe Stage.

This is a standing show.
