After January’s roadblock of a night with Dillinja at the helm, Soul:ution heads back to Band on the Wall with Klute [Commercial Suicide / Soul:r / Hospital], S.P.Y [Soul:r] and Marcus Intalex [Soul:r] spinning dark, soulful liquid DnB all night, with DRS [Broke ‘n £nglish] on MC duties.
Klute is unique in the DnB world – originally starting out as a rock drummer and also putting out a number of techno and broken beat records before turning his hand to DnB, his skills across multiple forms of music produce a flavour of drum & bass that has elements of dub techno as well as carefully selected vocal samples more often associated with quality house music. Klute was championed by the late John Peel, and was the last artist to ever be played on his show.
S.P.Y is a favourite of the Soul:r label, having collaborated on a number of releases with label boss Marcus Intalex and fellow liquid legend Calibre [Signature Records], including Intalex’s long awaited LP ’21’, co-producing one of the album’s true standout tunes ‘Celestial Navigation’, a slab of synth-led liquid dnb gold that owes as much to the IDM productions of AFX and Plaid as it does to traditional drum & bass.
As always, vocal duties are led by Broke ‘n £nglish‘s MC DRS, right through til 3am.
Advance ticketholders get priority entry.
